God Is Not Shaken

It's so easy to just want to give up when you've struggled so much. You stand there in your Faith waiting on God to change things. And just when you think it's all going to be o.k., and the storm is over, that same storm raises its ugly head to taunt you once again. "What happened? I don't understand. I thought I did everything I knew to do?" "Why is this happening again? How much more can I take?"
The Bible says in II Corinthians 4:8-9-"We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed." This scripture is referring to Paul, one of the disciples of Jesus. This was part of a letter he wrote to the Church in Corinth. He wanted to encourage them and help them understand what it meant to follow Jesus Christ. Troubles will arise and we must not be shaken but, we must stand strong in our Faith that God can do the impossible.
Have you ever felt like everything you do, all your prayers and standing seems to either work or not work? This is where leaning on God and not our own understanding comes in. Situations happen for a purpose. We may not always understand them but, they are there. It's a new journey in following God and the process of learning takes us into a whole new level of believing. I may not always like what I see or hear but I know that even in the storm, God will not be shaken or moved. I may move, I may be shaken to the point of wavering, but God will not. He does not change according to how we feel or what we are emotionally experiencing. God stands on His Word and His Word has already been accomplished.
To be shaken is to be moved in a back and forth motion, distressed or tremble. I find myself sometimes so frustrated at the roller coaster motion I experience when I am fighting just to survive the ride. It may take me a little while to finally come to my senses and realize that God is not punishing me, nor is He trying to confuse me. Confusion is not of God. Then, once I get it together and have time to think it out, I'm able to stop and go on. I know that God must have something really great since I am going through all this garbage once again. So, if I hold strong and am not shaken by what is happening, God will be faithful and see me through it like He always does.
So today, if you are going through something really difficult and you are not seeing a relief yet, don't give up! Stand your ground no matter what and know that God will bring it all into its proper place when it is supposed to be done. Rely on God for guidance and "Peace of Mind" because, God Is Not Shaken!
