King Solomon's Question

King Solomon's Question

 King Solomon's Question

Today...God impressed upon my heart the story of King Solomon in the Bible.  He asked me to remember how that Solomon, when asked what he wanted, responded to God by asking for Wisdom to lead God's nation Israel wisely.  He did not ask for wealth or anything this world could offer.  And God told him, because he had chosen Wisdom over riches, God would not only give him the wisdom he asked for but also the wealth of the world.  God made Solomon the Wisest and Wealthiest Man alive on earth.  He received from God more than what he had asked because he asked out of love and devotion to God, not out of devotion to man.  Solomon learned what it meant to be driven by a passion to please God and do what God needed him to do.  So often times we get caught up in material things...."If I only had this, I would be happy."  "If I only could do this, my life would be complete."  Whose desires are you fulfilling first?

God said, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things will be added unto you."  What was He saying?  Just like with Solomon he was asking you, "Put me first in your life above work, above family, above toys and gadgets, above your own personal gains, above riches, above all that "You" want.....And all these things will be added unto you."  There is a difference between need and want. God will take care of and meet all your needs according to His riches through Christ Jesus.  Seek Wisdom first then, you will be able to know and understand what it is God wants of you.  Read about Solomon....one right sentence out of his mouth changed the entire course of his life.  It will change yours too.  It will become what God wants it to be.

(Ecclesiastes 12:1)-Remember [earnestly] also your Creator [that you are not your own, but His property now] in the days of your youth.  Before the evil days come or the years draw near when you will say [of physical pleasures]. I have no enjoyment in them.

The Bible says also, Solomon came to the conclusion that his life was nothing without God and anything and everything that had existed, did exist and will ever exist came from God. He wrote in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14--All has been heard; the end of the matter is:  Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of His creation, the object of God's providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment of all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man.

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good or evil.  (AV)

What Solomon had come to realize is the final truth and the reality of our very existence.  We were not created to fulfill our fleshly desires but, God's desires and His alone.  Solomon truly was filled with the wisdom of God just as we too have been filled.  The Bible says, each and everyone of us have been given a measure of faith and wisdom and the knowledge that God Is.  There are no excuses for us of not knowing.  He said that He planted within our hearts the very knowledge of His existence and it is up to us to seek Him out.  I hope that you too will seek out God's wisdom for your life and then watch and see what God will do. ~Crickettt~
