No Longer A Slave

Once I was a slave to sin
Never knowing where I was heading.
Problems arose in every direction
And I stood all alone.
But someone told me about Jesus
And how he could change my life.
Yet, I was still uncertain
Wanting to do things on my own.
Finally, I gave in to truth
Hoping to find what I was missing.
Then, God began to use me
So, others could receive a blessing.
The trials still come along the way
But peace is there to greet me.
I've learned with God his Word stands true
No matter what I see.
I've traveled journeys long and wide
Down winding roads and paths.
Yet, he is always with me
His love just seems to last.
Years have come and years have gone
God has not once left me.
When problems come like pouring rain
I know his Word protects me.
Now, I'm no longer a slave to sin
I've found a better way.
This world will pass but, God's Word won't
His truth will always stay.
