 Ephesians 3:14-30

When I think of all this, I fall on my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.  I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.  Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust him.  Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong.  I pray that you may have power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.  I hope you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great and impossible to understand completely.  Then, you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.  Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever!  Amen.

The scriptures above were written by Paul.  It is a prayer that he prayed for each of us.  His prayer teaches us just how important it is for us to grow in Christ.  We all get busy throughout our days and sometimes we may not spend as much time with God as we need to or should.  The Bible clearly teaches; the more time we spend with God, we receive wisdom and knowledge from God. We are able to understand not only his Word but, we also grow as Christians.  He begins to show us more about who He is and just how much He loves us.  We start hearing His voice inside our Spirits urging us in certain directions.  I put this to the test in my own life and noticed that whenever I slacked off from reading and worshiping and praying, chaos seemed to occur more frequently, and I was stressed more.  When I got back into reading my Bible daily and praying throughout the day and meditating on God with thanksgiving, I had more peace. I also noticed the little things that would usually bother me, became something I could ignore.  If I missed a day reading, I actually missed God the way you would miss a loved one or friend.  It just seemed like something was missing in my day.  I encourage you to try this too.  Not for a few days, give yourself several weeks and when you are reading God's word, remember it is like his love letter written for you.  He has so much to show you.  A good place to start is in Psalm and Proverbs.  Valuable life lessons are found in those books in the Bible. As you grow and learn God also reveals the mysteries that are hidden in his word.  Many times, I have read certain passages over and over and not thought much about it.  Then one day, I would read it again and it would be as if the verse took on a whole new meaning for me and for the first time I saw something in the verse I had never noticed before.  I knew then that God was revealing to me the hidden secrets in his word that you will only receive when you search.  The Bible calls them "hidden treasures".  He empowers us with an inner strength through his Holy Spirit.  The Bible says, when you search for God, you will find him if you search for him diligently with all your heart.   Jesus will come and fill our hearts with his unconditional love which will enable us to get through the difficult times.  To be empowered by the Spirit of God is to allow him to have total control of your life.  The Spirit will give us the strength that we normally would not have during each crisis.  No where in the Bible does it say you will have an easy life once you become saved.  The Bible says we will have trials and tribulations but not to fear for Jesus will be with us.  He promises to walk with us through the fire and the floods that rage around us.  His word says that he gives us a supernatural peace that only comes from God.  It is impossible for us to fully understand God's love because it is so great.  However, he does allow us to experience parts of that love while we are walking in him and seeking after his word.  God's word is planted within our hearts like a seed.  And when that seed is cared for properly it grows.  And the more it grows, the stronger we become spiritually, mentally, and physically.  God's word is mighty to the pulling down of strongholds.  A stronghold is anything that gets in your way and keeps you from God.  It is anything that holds you back or has control over you.  When you are walking through difficult situations, that’s not the time to run away from God, that’s when you need to run to God as fast as you can.  Paul ends by saying, God's power will be working in us each step of the way to accomplish more than we could ever ask or think and will carry on for generations to come.  God's word is the most important book you will ever read.  Not only does it change your heart but, it will alter your life forever.  He said, "Heaven and Earth will pass away but, My Word will last forever”.  God bless you as you search to know God and his direction for your life.  His word never fails!
