You Were There

You were there when the ground shook and trembled
You were there when it all came crashing down
You were there when the people ran for safety
You were there as they pulled bodies from underground.
You were there when the nations cried out in anger
You were there when the people watched their loved ones die
You were there when the media displayed their sorrow
You were there as they fought to stay alive.
You were there when the aid had finally come
You were there when God's people bowed and prayed
You were there when we all watched in great horror
You were there in the streets where they laid.
You were there in all the chaos and confusion
You were there as they shouted out "Why!"
You were there when we couldn't understand it
You were there to bring comfort while they cried.
You were always there, God, in the middle of this horrible tragedy and you are still there.
You are bringing people together to help and reach out in love to a hurting and suffering people.
You did not cause this, nor did you create all this suffering. You are there in their time of need
You are there God because you love them.
Lord,
Today I pray for Haiti and also the people around the world, who have suffered so greatly. I also pray that you will let them know that you have not forgotten them, and you are with them always. I pray that you will bring comfort, healing of hearts, minds, souls and bodies. They are in such pain and need you in a miraculous way. Thank you, God, for being there with them and I know you will remain with them. I ask your saving grace upon them and your protection around each person who is there helping. Thank you that your Word is at work even now. Amen
