Little Lost Lamb - A Tale of 2

These are true stories.

Tale #1

This story took place just yesterday, at the grocery store, in the adjoining state just across the state line from home.

While perusing the aisles of the large market, my eyes navigated towards something they caught in my peripheral vision.  Lying  on the floor, tucked just under the bottom shelf that stocked Eight O'Clock coffee, lay some type of rubbery plastic toy.  Stooping down to investigate closer, I retrieved the toy that I perceived was lost from the hands of a fidgeting tot in a grocery buggy; it was a tiny toy, an animal - yes, a tiny lamb.

Ok, so you are perhaps not impressed by my story so far.  Shopping center parking lots and their shopping carts are often littered with lost toys, receipts, binkies, pennies, lone earrings and irresponsible trash.  Once I spotted a pair of really nice western boots sitting in the center of a parking space at a shopping complex.  My sometimes over-stimulated brain began  composing  possible scenarios about those boots, and why they were abandoned and taking up an entire parking space.  A couple of those conspiracies included the possibility that the rapture of the bride of Christ had taken place, and I had been left behind (not happy about that one).  Another notion arose of a possible kidnapping, with the victim leaving behind his boots as a clue for forensics investigation.  Ok, that one was a bit over the top.  Lastly, I figured someone just decided to leave them as a gift for another soul in need.

Before driving away, I took a photo of the boots, and did some photo-editing.

Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 1Thessalonians 4:17 ESV

So, I held a tiny lost lamb in my hands -  a little scathed, but otherwise in good condition.  What immediately filtered through my mind, concerning the lamb, was the realization that this was Passion Week, and the following day was Good Friday.  Studying the little lamb, these words from the Bible entered my mind:

"Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world."  John 1:29 ESV

I held the little lamb closely, those precious words repeating over and over in my head, feeling as if it had been placed under that shelf just for me to  notice and retrieve.

You see, sometimes I need a tangible reminder that I too have been included in the great purchase power that Jesus/Yeshua purchased all of us with,  paying a tremendously great price in doing so.  His life.

There is no greater gift to all of life, than the gift of our Savior.

Breaths come and breaths go, but the gift of God (YHWH Elohim) lasts forever.  This was His way to redeem His broken creatures.

He had to die, so that we could live!

Thank You, Lamb of God!

Thank You for remembering all of us.

Thank You for my little lost lamb.  It is no longer lost.

Today is GOOD Friday and I remember You with JOY!

Tale #2

 That little lamb was me.

I am no longer lost.

My Shepherd found me.

I am His forever.

There is room for YOU in His flock.

Just believe in Him, and leap into His loving arms.  He will never let you go.

He will carry you HOME!
