"Come Know Me"

This week I want to share with you one of my blogs I had written years ago.  I have a blog section on our site here that contains Bible Studies and other inspirational materials God has given me in my journals since 1989.  I have cherished all of the words and lessons the Holy Spirit has given me and taught me as I continue in Him.  I am always learning and finding out new mysteries in His Word as He reveals Himself to me.  I am so humbled that God/Yahweh would speak to me in my journals and in my Bible study.  I will post some of them here from time to time when I feel led to do so.  I will also be posting new Bible Study lessons as the Holy Spirit teaches me.  I always wait on Him to show me what He wants to say because God is the author of it all.

"Come Know Me"

By-Crickettt

Psalm 119:10-11(GW Translation) I wholeheartedly searched for You.  Do not let me wander away from Your commandments.  I have treasured Your promise in my heart so that I may not sin against You.

1 Chronicles 28:9(NIV)--...for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought.  If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.

1 Corinthians 13:12(NKJV)--For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.  Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

Psalm 139:1(NIV)--You have searched me, Lord, and You know me.

Jeremiah 17:10(NIV)--"I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to their deeds deserve."

"Come know Me, as you have always been known by Me"...

Those words ring loudly in my ears like never before.  I can still remember that day so vividly and how lonely I felt.  So many disappointing circumstances were happening all at once it seemed, with no relief in sight.  I cried out to God that day just wanting to hear Him speak to me.  I needed His comfort and answers for all the questions spinning around in my head.  Did God see me hurting and know what I was going through?  Surely, He understood the hurt and the pain.  It seemed like an unending battle was taking place inside my heart.  The brokenness was becoming so overwhelming and I needed answers soon.  The enemy was attacking me on every side, and I knew my strength would only come from God when I yielded myself over to Him for guidance.

I sat down and began writing in my journal.  I had so much to say this time and I wanted to feel Jesus' presence with me.  My pages filled up rather quickly as I wrote my Letter to God.  This was my way of communicating with Him, by putting my thoughts down on paper and praying.  That particular day however, when I had finished writing my letter, I was led to write what came to my heart.  'Come know Me, as you have always been known by Me".  The words He spoke became so real to me.  For the first time there was a deeper meaning to the way the Father knew me as His child.  I had always learned and heard how much He loves us all, but not to the depth I was experiencing right then.  The Lord was telling me to come and know Him so He could show me Who He is and how much I am loved.

The scripture says in (James 4:8) to draw near to God and He will draw near to you.  Jesus wants to have a deeper relationship with His children.  He wants us to know Him because when we see Jesus, we see the Father. God has always known everything about us.  It says in (Jeremiah 1:5) that before God formed us in our mother's womb, He knew us. We are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).  We are uniquely created for God's purpose and plan.  He desires us to take out the time and get to know Him through His Word.  There is a change that takes place in our hearts when we spend time learning and growing by reading our Bible.   Every answer we could ever need is found in scripture.  When we read His Word, the Holy Spirit reveals everything to us. We can ask God to show us how to understand what we are reading, and He will show us because, we are seeking to know Him.  It may not happen immediately but as we continue to spend time with the Lord, He continues to reveal new things we have not seen before or known.  (Jeremiah 33:3-NKJV)-"Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know."  The knowledge He reveals to us will always be in perfect timing to what we are learning as we read and study.  God has already given mankind an inner knowledge to know that He is the Creator of everything.  We either choose to believe in Him and receive eternal life or we deny Him and walk away into eternal death.  The Spirit of God is always calling people to come and know Him.  He desires that no one perish but all would come and receive Him as their Lord and Savior.  He wants us always walking in victory and not in defeat.  We should remain in prayer throughout each day for our families, friends, our nation and leaders, etc. and most importantly, praying for the salvation of those who are lost without Jesus in their lives.  Prayer actually does change people and situations. There may be a lot of things we do not quite understand about prayer but, God is Faithful, Just and Good.  He alone knows the reasons behind everything and what its outcome will bring.  The Bible teaches in (Isaiah 55:8-NKJV) that God's ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts.  God sees the bigger picture beyond every circumstance.  There may be unanswered questions now but, one day we will know in full even as we are known in full by God (1 Corinthians 13:12).

God has a lot to say to us if we will just take out the time to sit and listen.  He speaks in a still small voice.  If you don't know God, you won't be able to discern His voice.  By getting into a habit of talking to God through prayer and spending time with Him, He is able to work in our lives.  There is a passage in the Bible where God says He will show us the mysteries hidden within His word if we will seek Him out.  Jesus said in (Matthew7:7-8 NIV)-"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened."  We are supposed to be children of light and not of darkness.  The enemy, the devil is defeated by using God's Word against him.  When Jesus was tempted by the devil in the wilderness, He didn't just tell the devil to go away, He immediately spoke the written Word of God to the devil and he had to flee. We have the authority to do the same.  Jesus gave that authority to all of us before he ascended up to the Father.  When we study and meditate on God's word, we become more mature in our knowledge of Him and can recognize His voice over the devil's voice.  His will for our life becomes our will as we desire to obey and please God.  I can assure you, the more you study and read the more the devil will attack and try to cause chaos to distract you from learning.  Once you figure it all out and understand the power and authority you have over the devil, he becomes a defeated foe.  The devil is like a roaring lion looking for anyone to devour.  He will catch you at your weakest moments and he knows exactly what it will take to try and get you to turn your back on God or destroy you.  That is why we have been given the authority by the blood of Jesus and in Jesus' Name to speak His word against the enemy to stop him.  However, without proper knowledge and wisdom in the Word, we will be caught off guard as helpless prey and not know what to do when the devil attacks.  That is also why Jesus said to guard your hearts and mind in Him.

We are our Father's great treasure.  God knows us better than we know ourselves.  The Bible says He loves us so much that He has numbered every hair on our head and even saves our tears in a bottle (Psalm 56:8).  He knows when we rise up and when we lay down.  He knows our every thought even before we think it.  Nothing is hidden in the dark that He doesn't already know about.  He never leaves us or forsakes us.  We are the ones who walk away from Him because of sin.  The Lord wants us to know His love and experience His presence daily.  He wants to teach us His ways so we will know how to obey and receive the blessings He has stored up for those who trust in Him.  Most of all, God is our loving Father who longs to spend time with us, just as a father on earth loves to spend time with his child.  Our Father in Heaven longs to hold us and comfort us if we will just let Him.  He patiently waits for us to decide to spend that quality time together with Him.  Jesus is love therefore, His love is unconditional.  Jesus said, "My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow me"(John 10:27-HCSB).  You are His child if you seek after Him.

The Lord has so much to say to you today...and if you will sit quietly before Him and listen, you will hear Him say, "Come know Me as you have always been known by Me".
