God Still Delivers

(NKJ)Psalm 20-The Lord hear you in the day of trouble, the name of the God of Jacob defend you; send you help from the Sanctuary and strengthen you; remember all your offerings. Grant you according to your own heart and fulfill all you counsel. The Lord fulfills all your petitions. Now know I that the Lord saves his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. We will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Sometimes, the world caves in all around us, leaving us discouraged in our spirits and lost in despair. Our eyes begin to look away from the promises of God and upon the failures of the flesh. But, the Word of our God teaches us that He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins when we confess them before Him. Many times, I have found myself feeling lonely and empty when trouble arises. These are the times when God always reminds me to stay in his Word and to not be overcome by the trials of this world but, to be strong and of good courage because, the Lord is with me. You see, just because you are a Christian does not mean that you will not have troubles. God says in Psalm 20, he saves his anointed. Satan spends more time trying to destroy and defeat the believers in Christ more than those who do not believe because, he already has control of them and main his goal is to hurt God's children. If Satan can control and deceive God's people, then he has accomplished what he set out to do.

Praise God, the Bible says in Isaiah 54:7-"No weapons formed against us shall prosper." And in Philippians 4:19-"But, my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Also, 1 Corinthians 10:26-"For the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof."

Go and find scriptures that pertain to your situations and stand on those...Do not doubt or waver in your faith...believing that you will receive God's best and come out restored by God's Grace (favor).

God is still in control no matter what may arise in your life. He has the power to deliver you out of every circumstance according to His Will. For God is the creator of all things. "Greater is He (God) that is in you than he (Satan) that is in the world." Remember, God knew you even before you were conceived in your mother's womb. He chose you long before you were even thought of. He designed you as a perfect plan for His Glory. He gave you victory and the equipment in order to succeed. When we get our eyes off of Jesus, the course set before us is turned and we find ourselves going down roads that God never intended us to travel. In the middle of desperate hours, we choose different directions thinking we can get ourselves out of the problems and yet, it is in those very moments, everything we do seems to work against us. God is still faithful, and He will not place upon us more than we can bear. If we call upon His name, put our full trust in Him, the Bible says that God will make a way even in the wilderness (most difficult situations), where there seems to be no way. His compassion for us is new each morning. God will be our strength when we are weak. He knows your every thought and desire even before we think it. He knows the beginning to the end. He knows what we want or need, and He says, "Ask of me what you will." "My people have not because they ask not." "Ask that your joy may be made complete."

The Bible teaches that God will not refuse us any good thing. Christ is our Salvation, Deliverer, Redeemer, Lord, King, and so much more. No problem is so great that God cannot deliver you out of it. Stop focusing on the problem and instead put your focus upon the Lord. He promises to never leave you or forsake you. He promises to be there in the middle of the storm of your life and will walk you all the way through it. At the end of that storm, you will be strengthened and grow in wisdom. He says, in Isaiah 55:11-"So shall my Word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

I am reminded of the story in Matthew 14: 22-32.  Jesus had sent his disciples across to the other side of the lake.  Jesus remained behind to go pray by the hillside.  A storm came upon the disciples while they were out on the lake.  They became very frightened.  Jesus came toward them walking on the water.  When they saw him, they were terrified as if Jesus was a ghost.  Jesus spoke to them to not be afraid.  He said, "Take courage, I am here."  Then Peter, called out to Jesus and said, "Lord, if it's really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water."  Jesus told him to come.  Peter's eyes were fixed on Jesus as he stepped out of the boat and upon the water.  He began walking on the water toward Jesus. Everything was fine until Peter heard and saw the storm raging all around him.  Suddenly, he became frightened and took his eyes off of Jesus and began to focus on the storm.  He began to sink.  He cried out, "Lord, save me."  Jesus reached down and lifted him up out of the water and said, "You have so little faith, why did you doubt me?"  They climbed into the boat and the storm stopped.

You see, as long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he was not afraid and had the confidence he needed to walk on water (to face the difficulties head on).  When he took his eyes off of Jesus, all chaos broke out.  He became filled with fear first, doubt next, and then panicked.  Peter was taught a valuable lesson.  It was not by chance that Jesus sent them out on that lake.  He knew exactly what was going to happen.  Jesus wanted them to see first hand that nothing is impossible when you believe.  Jesus gently reached down and delivered him.  He was always there but, for one split second, Peter forgot and got caught up in the storm.

God does still deliver, and He does desire for us to receive the good that He has in store for us today. We have to grab hold of those promises and know God is fully able to do all that He says He will do and has done. Put your faith in Him. When you finally reach that point of no return, when you finally see that you cannot solve it, when you finally know that you can't handle it alone......He is there! Let God help you through it! He is the only one who can!
